The government has simplified access to state property without an auction for enterprises of the defense-industrial complex, the Cabinet of Ministers reported on May 30. Radio Liberty reports this, the PromPolitInform portal reports.
According to the report, the Ministry of Defense has developed a corresponding resolution. According to it, access to state property without an auction can be used not only by serial manufacturers of missile systems, but also by developers of new models of missiles and manufacturers of explosives.
“Before this decision, only serial manufacturers of missile systems, determined to be critically important for the economy in a special period, could lease state property without an auction,” the government says.
Now, enterprises that develop new, modernized or modified models of missile weapons or produce explosive materials for military purposes also have the right to lease.
To receive state property for lease, an enterprise must meet three criteria:
have the status of being critically important for the defense industry or the needs of the Armed Forces in a special period,
be in the electronic register of participants in the selection of state contract executors,
belong to one of the listed categories of manufacturers or developers.
According to Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, the decision will allow for faster launch of new production sites and increase production for the needs of the Defense Forces.
“Ukrainian manufacturers are able to significantly increase production, and accordingly, the advantage of our military on the battlefield,” she added.
In early May, the Cabinet of Ministers initiated an increase in defense spending in the state budget for 2026 against the backdrop of the approval of a loan from the European Union in the amount of 90 billion euros for 2026–2027.
