The Pension Fund of Ukraine has announced the start of accepting documents for subsidies for the purchase of solid fuel and liquefied gas for the 2026–2027 heating season. Assistance is not automatically accrued, so you need to apply independently. This, Today.ua informs, is stated on the official PFU web portal. The PromPolitInform portal reports.
Who is entitled and the main conditions
Citizens of Ukraine and foreigners with the appropriate status whose income does not allow them to purchase fuel independently can receive compensation. The key requirement is that the housing must be heated exclusively by stoves, without centralized, gas or electric heating.
At the same time, regardless of income, assistance is provided to combatants, persons with disabilities as a result of the war, and families of deceased Defenders. Applications from internally displaced persons, residents of frontline areas, large families, single pensioners, and people with disabilities are considered first.
Amounts of compensation
The amount of payment is calculated individually according to approved standards:
Firewood: the basic amount is up to 9,205.14 UAH (based on 2 tons per household).
Liquefied gas: depending on the family size, from 920.52 UAH (1–2 people) to 1,841.04 UAH (from 5 people).
Frontline regions: residents of nine regions (Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Luhansk, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv) can additionally receive up to 19,400 UAH of international aid.
Why it is better to submit documents in the summer
Experts urge to apply for a subsidy in advance, because in the fall, firewood traditionally becomes more expensive by 20–40%, and due to high demand, there are delays in delivery. In addition, the processing of documents at the PFU itself takes up to 10 working days.
How and where to submit documents
To apply, you will need an application, income declaration, passport, RNOKPP, IBAN account and certificate of stove heating.
You can submit a package of documents online (via Diya or the PFU web portal) or offline (at PFU service centers, TsNAPs, local government bodies or by mail). In case of a positive decision, the funds will be transferred to the bank card in a lump sum.
