All four branches in Kherson Region receive gabions and anti-drone nets for protection
State-owned Oschadbank inspected the resilience of its branch network across seven frontline and southern Ukrainian regions. The audit covered operations in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Sumy, Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions. A total of 311 bank branches continue to function in these areas. This was reported by Economichna Pravda, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The inspection and safety upgrades come in response to intensified Russian shelling. During the reviews, specialists evaluated structural defenses, security equipment, backup power readiness, and staff response plans for emergency situations.
All bank facilities are equipped with alternative power sources and fuel reserves. To improve physical protection, branches utilize reinforced structures, armored units, protective shutters, anti-drone netting, and gabions. Notably, anti-drone nets and gabions were deployed at all four branches in Kherson Region. The bank is also adapting facility infrastructure for potential heating disruptions.
Operational Metrics and Financial Performance
Despite ongoing security risks, frontline regional branches maintain strong performance metrics. Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Sumy branches rank among the top ten in overall lending and deposit volumes. Sumy branch reached fourth place network-wide in corporate lending, while Odesa branch secured third place in retail lending and fourth in total loan portfolio.
“Southern and eastern Ukraine remain regions with particularly high security risks for employees, clients, and banking infrastructure. Over the eight months of 2026, client deposits at the Mykolaiv branch grew by 10%, while the Kherson branch holds over UAH 3.5 billion in retail deposits, up by 6%. Simultaneously, all four eastern branches ranked among the bank’s top ten in operating profit,” stated Yevhenii Drachko-Yermolenko, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board at Oschadbank.
Network Footprint and Mobile Units
In total, Oschadbank operates 1073 active branches nationwide. In addition, customer service is extended through 15 mobile banking units operating on specialized vehicles.
Ten of these specialized mobile units serve residents directly in frontline areas. The remaining five mobile vehicles provide banking access to remote communities in the central and western regions of the country.
