The Prime Minister demands the immediate formation of security teams and software upgrades
Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Koretskyi has instructed heads of executive bodies to implement additional measures to protect state information systems. The decision was made against the backdrop of massive cyberattacks by the rf on digital infrastructure. This was reported by Economichna Pravda, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
Officials are demanding that state agency leadership immediately initiate the formation of specialized cybersecurity teams. Furthermore, a process has been initiated for the urgent procurement and commissioning of necessary software capable of countering modern threats.
As Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi noted, russia is conducting a systemic campaign against Ukrainian digital resources, identical in strategy to its strikes on the energy sector. During September alone, about ten data centers in the capital were damaged, which indicates the high intensity of enemy intentions.
Countering Artificial Intelligence
Analysis of current events shows that the enemy is actively employing artificial intelligence in cyberattacks. The primary targets of the aggressor remain state information platforms and the Ukrainian business sector; therefore, the head of government emphasized the need to reach a level of protection comparable to key state institutions.
Previously, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated 518.3 million UAH from the reserve fund to strengthen backup capacities for state systems. These steps were a response to the destruction caused by russian strikes throughout September, specifically the targeting of data centers belonging to companies such as Omega Telecom, Kyivstar, Parkovyi, MiroHost, Datagroup, and internet providers UTELS, Domonet, Kievnet, and Faust.
