The American leader refused to disclose the details of the negotiations with Musk
US President Donald Trump confirmed the restoration of satellite communication terminals for Ukrainian forces. The politician declined to comment on details regarding potential phone calls to Elon Musk. This was reported by Glavcom citing The Wall Street Journal, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The American leader noted that the circumstances of the communication and the names of those who actually made the calls play no role whatsoever. He called the main result the very fact that the network’s operation is functioning in its previous mode again.
“I don’t want to comment on that, you know, whether I called or someone else called, it doesn’t matter. I guess the main thing is that he restored access,” Donald Trump said.
Consequences of communication restrictions
Prior to this, information emerged about the American leader’s appeal to the entrepreneur demanding the removal of limits on the use of the military modification of the network. Media representatives recorded an increase in connection speed immediately after the talks between them.
Ukrainian units previously suffered losses of unmanned aerial vehicles worth over $1 million due to disruptions in the operation of the Starshield satellite system. Because of this, combat operations had to be put on pause for nearly three days.
Elon Musk’s decision
The Wall Street Journal previously reported on the personal order by the company’s founder to restrict satellite communications for the Ukrainian side. Such actions came as a surprise to both officials in Ukraine and American representatives.
