In institutions of general secondary education of Ukraine introduce the textbook “Entrepreneurship and financial literacy” for ninth graders. It is reported by the National Bank, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
Since September 01, 2026, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine continues to introduce the compulsory subject “Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy” in institutions of general secondary education. If in the academic year 2025-2026 it was studied by all students of the 8th grade, then from the academic year 2026-2027 they will continue to master the subject in the 9th grade, deepening knowledge and developing financial and entrepreneurial skills, the report says.
NBU experts have prepared a textbook for students of the 9th grade of general secondary education institutions. The publication logically continues the content and methodological line of the textbook for grade 8, created by the same institution, and forms a holistic idea of the course at the level of basic secondary education.
The textbook is aimed at developing students’ financial culture and entrepreneurial skills, as well as the formation of skills that can be applied in real life situations. It was concluded taking into account the age characteristics of ninth graders and the educational experience they had previously acquired.
The educational publication “Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy” for grade 9 is part of a single educational line created by the NBU. The textbook has a systemic character and is marked by the following advantages: the actual design and the logically built structure of the material; focus on the active work of students and the practical application of knowledge; an accessible explanation of complex economic and financial concepts; the ability to adapt to different formats of classes; the presence of additional components – a workbook and an electronic resource.
For the National Bank, financial literacy remains one of the priority areas of work, because it forms the basis of financially responsible behavior and economic sustainability of society. At the same time, the development of entrepreneurial skills of young people is critically important for the future reconstruction and post-war development of Ukraine. Continuation of the course in the 9th grade makes it possible to systematically form financial and entrepreneurial competencies, because a significant part of the educational material is devoted to entrepreneurship. We consistently invest in financial education, taking care of preparing the younger generation for active participation in the economic life of the country, “said the Head of the NBU Andriy Pyshnyi.
