President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy will make an official visit to Spain on Wednesday, March 18.
This writes the European truth with reference to the Spanish news agency EFE, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
According to sources in the Spanish government, the Ukrainian leader will be received by Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. The meeting is due to take place at his official residence – the Moncloa Palace in Madrid.
During the visit, Zelensky will sign a number of agreements and hold a joint press conference with Sanchez.
This will be Zelenskyy’s fourth visit to Spain since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The trip of the Ukrainian president will take place on the eve of the meeting of the European Council, which will be held in Brussels on March 19-20. Volodymyr Zelenskyy was also invited to this meeting.
It is expected that during the summit the leaders of the European Union will discuss further support for Ukraine, in particular financial assistance.
According to media reports, the EU plans to convince the leaders of Hungary and Slovakia – Viktor Orban and Robert Fico – to support the decision to allocate a loan of 90 billion euros to Ukraine.
The United States is trying to persuade Kyiv and Moscow to conclude a peace agreement, but the third round of trilateral negotiations broke down due to the war in the Middle East.
