On October 30, a phase of a humanitarian mission is taking place in the temporarily occupied town of Oleshky, in the Kherson region. Buses carrying those wishing to leave have departed—heading both toward Ukraine and toward Russia—under the supervision of the ombudsmen from both countries. Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman), reported that shipments of humanitarian aid have reached their destination. This was reported by Channel 24, as relayed by the portal PromPolitInform.
He also released footage from the scene, featuring himself alongside the Russian Commissioner for Human Rights, Yana Lantratova.
Lubinets added that he is accompanying the convoy of evacuated civilians.
“The humanitarian aid is on-site. The people are on the move. I am with them: some buses are heading to Ukraine, while others are bound for the territory of the Russian Federation,” he stated.
Furthermore, the Ukrainian Ombudsman thanked the Defense Forces of Ukraine for their steadfast observance of the ceasefire, which guarantees the safety of the humanitarian corridor.
This humanitarian operation is being carried out with the mediation of the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, for which Lubinets expressed his appreciation. Additionally, according to information provided by US First Lady Melania Trump, a total of 750 residents agreed to leave the temporarily occupied town of Oleshky. Twenty-five buses, ambulances, and fifty medical personnel were deployed to carry out the evacuation.
It should be recalled that a local ceasefire has been in effect since 03:00 on October 27 and will continue until the evening of November 1. The humanitarian mission in Oleshky involved a temporary cessation of hostilities, the delivery of humanitarian aid, and the evacuation of those wishing to leave.
