On the night of May 16 (from 18:00 on May 15), the Russian enemy attacked Ukraine with 294 attack drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas type and simulator drones of the Parody type. This was reported by the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the PromPolitInform portal reports.
Thus, the Russians launched drones from Orel, Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from the settlement of Gvardiyske and from Cape Chauda, which is in the occupied Crimea.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
As of 09:00, air defense forces had shot down and suppressed 269 enemy drones in the north, south, center, and east of the country.
20 strike drones were recorded hitting 15 locations, as well as debris from downed UAVs falling in nine locations.
