The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine urged citizens to use the funds accumulated on the cards of the National Cashback program until June 30, 2026 inclusive. Unused balances that will remain in the accounts as of the end of this day will be returned to the state budget.
The corresponding explanation appeared on the official website of the ministry on Monday, May 18, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
Payment schedule and rules for the use of funds
The department said that cashback payments for purchases made in April will go to the cards of Ukrainians at the end of May. These funds must also be spent before the end of June. Compensation for May purchases will be paid in July.
Despite the procedure for returning unused balances in June, the program itself continues to work unchanged. Accruals and payments for subsequent periods will be carried out according to the usual schedule – after the 20th day of each month.
How the updated cashback model works
Recall that the National Cashback program was launched in September 2024, and from March 1, 2026 it operates on an updated differentiated model. The percentage of compensation depends on the category of goods:
15% cashback is charged on Ukrainian goods in categories with a high share of imports. This includes cosmetics, household chemicals, household goods, construction and repair, pet supplies, stationery, clothes, shoes, as well as hard and soft cheeses and certain types of cereals and pasta.
5% cashback operates in segments where domestic producers have strong positions: sweets, drinks, pharmacy products, products for the garden and vegetable garden, conservation, vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, oil and most dairy products.
This approach, as explained in the Ministry, makes it possible to stimulate demand in those niches where there is potential for replacing foreign goods with Ukrainian counterparts.
Cashback for fuel and cost directions
In addition to consumer goods, until the end of May 2026, a special offer for fuel is valid within the program. Citizens can receive compensation in the amount of 5% to 15% of the cost of fuel at more than 150 gas station networks that have joined the project.
The funds accumulated on a special card can be spent on:
Payment of utility and postal services;
Purchase of food, medicines and medical devices of Ukrainian origin;
Purchase of books;
Charitable contributions and donations in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
To participate in the program, you must open a special card in the partner bank, provide permission to transfer transaction data and select this card in the Action application.
