Ukraine is taking another step towards the restoration of civil aviation. The government and relevant services are working on scenarios for the partial launch of air flights, and two airports have already been identified that may become the first after the opening of the sky. These are airports that have the necessary infrastructure, logistical capabilities and the potential to ensure increased security requirements. This is reported by “First Business“, the PromPolitInform portal reports.
According to industry sources, both airports are undergoing additional technical assessments, as well as a check of readiness for operation under martial law. Issues of perimeter protection, modernization of navigation systems, shelters for passengers and personnel, as well as coordination with international partners, which are to provide part of the security procedures, are being considered.
The resumption of air services is considered an important element of the country’s economic and humanitarian stability. This will allow to accelerate logistics, support business, ensure the mobility of citizens and create additional opportunities for international cooperation.
The government emphasizes that the decision to launch will be made only after receiving security guarantees and coordination with international aviation structures. Consultations with partners are currently underway, as well as an assessment of the risks associated with airspace.
We remind you that despite the difficult conditions, Ukraine demonstrates its readiness to gradually return critical infrastructure to operation, and aviation is one of the key areas of this process.
