An American startup associated with the Trump family is developing dual-purpose humanoid robots for industry and military needs and is already testing early models in Ukraine. This is reported by CNBC, writes Rubrika. The PromPolitInform portal informs.
The San Francisco startup Foundation Future Industries is creating autonomous humanoid robots that can be used both in heavy industry and in military operations. The company positions its developments as “dual-purpose” technologies, but openly recognizes the potential for their combat use.
According to CNBC, the first prototypes of the robots are already being tested in Ukraine. We are talking about testing in logistical tasks in dangerous areas, in particular for the delivery and transportation of goods, which reduces risks for the military.
The company announces ambitious plans to produce thousands of robots each year and expand testing with the US military over the next 12–18 months. In the future, the developers are considering using the systems in combat conditions with partial or full autonomy in certain scenarios.
In the future, the startup plans to improve the models and scale up production, considering their application in both the military and industrial sectors.
The project has attracted particular attention due to its connections with Donald Trump’s political environment. Eric Trump is reportedly an advisor to the company and was an investor in the startup before his role in the project.
It is worth noting that in February 2026 it became known that the company sent two of its Phantom 1 robots to Ukraine for a pilot demonstration. The tests were carried out with the support of the US government and in cooperation with Ukrainian officials.
According to Patak, the robots have already proven their ability to perform tasks of supplying and transporting cargo that potentially threaten the military.
Despite the fact that the humanoid robots have shown results during the tests, they are far from “super soldiers,” he says. The businessman claims that they lack waterproofing and better autonomy. At the same time, the American company said that the new version of the robot, which is planned to be sent to Ukraine, will have “superhuman abilities” and will double the load-bearing capacity of the previous model. They intend to test them in Ukraine this year.
