Ukraine, together with the European Union, is launching new defense programs with a total budget of hundreds of millions of euros. The government announced that these initiatives are aimed at strengthening the defense industry, modernizing production, and integrating Ukrainian enterprises into European technological and logistical chains. This was reported by Pershyi Biznesovyi, the PromPolitInform portal reports.
According to representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers, part of the funding will be directed to expanding ammunition production, developing joint technological projects, and creating new production facilities. A separate direction involves supporting innovations, in particular, unmanned systems, electronic warfare, cyber defense, and high-precision technologies.
The government emphasizes that these programs are part of a broader EU strategy to strengthen Ukraine’s defense resilience and strengthen the security of the entire European region. In addition to financial assistance, the country will receive access to joint research platforms, training programs and technical support for the modernization of production.
Also, within the framework of the new initiatives, Ukrainian defense companies will be able to participate in European tenders, receive grants for technology development and attract partners to scale up production. The government emphasizes that this will allow Ukraine to more quickly build its own defense capabilities and strengthen cooperation with European allies.
As a reminder, the EU confirms that support for Ukraine will remain long-term, and the new programs will become a key element of the common defense policy.
