The participants of the Coalition of the Willing called for a complete and immediate ceasefire in Ukraine, agreed to increase the supply of air defense equipment, and confirmed their readiness to provide Ukraine with mandatory security guarantees. As Ukrinform reports, this is stated in the joint declaration of the co-chairs of the Coalition of the Willing, published after the meeting in Paris. The PromPolitInform portal informs.
“We remain resolutely committed to establishing a just and lasting peace in Ukraine in accordance with the principles of international law, in particular the Charter of the United Nations, which will protect the interests of Ukraine and our common interests in the field of security,” the document states.
The participants again called for a “complete and immediate ceasefire in Ukraine and the resumption of direct negotiations” between Ukraine and Russia, with the active participation of the United States and Europe, to establish a ceasefire along the contact line.
“There can be no peace without Ukraine. Any peace agreement must be negotiated with the full and permanent participation of Ukraine,” the declaration said.
The coalition members also stated that no agreements concerning European interests and security can be concluded without the participation of the Europeans.
They also confirmed that Russian assets will remain frozen until Russia ends its aggressive war and compensates Ukraine for the losses it has caused.
The declaration states that the coalition countries will continue to provide Ukraine with military, financial and civilian assistance as needed.
“We agreed to increase the supply of air defense systems, interceptors and long-range weapons,” the meeting participants said.
The coalition also welcomed the creation of a separate coalition to counter ballistic missiles and the decision to grant Ukraine a license to produce interceptor missiles.
Separately, the participants agreed to increase economic pressure on Russia as long as it continues to attack Ukraine, strengthen sanctions, and coordinate the fight against their circumvention.
“We will act in a more systematic and coordinated manner, including through special mechanisms within the coalition, to intensify operations to detain and inspect vessels and put an end to the impunity enjoyed by these ships,” the declaration says in part about the Russian shadow fleet.
The coalition participants also confirmed that a future peace agreement should be based on politically and legally binding security guarantees for Ukraine.
“The purpose of these guarantees is to prevent the resumption of Russian aggression against Ukraine and to ensure stability and security in Europe. They will be accompanied by long-term military assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the document states.
The coalition welcomed the readiness of the multinational forces for Ukraine to operate on Ukrainian territory, on land, in the air and at sea – at the request of Kyiv and after the establishment of a reliable ceasefire.
