The first exercises of the “coalition of the willing” will be held in Poland

The first maneuvers of the “coalition of the willing” will involve Polish, British and French military personnel, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said. The exercises will take place this fall.

The first military exercises of the “coalition of the willing” are to be held in Poland in the fall. As reported by DW, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said this on Tuesday, July 14, in Paris, where a summit of countries ready to help Ukraine defend itself against Russian aggression was held the day before. The PromPolitInform portal reports.

According to him, the Polish armed forces will act as both the host country and participants in the maneuvers. British and French units will also take part in them.

The exercises are intended to prepare a group of countries supporting Kyiv for “concrete security guarantees for Ukraine, as well as for the entire region” after a peace agreement or ceasefire is reached, Tusk said.

Tusk does not expect peace to be established quickly in Ukraine

At the same time, he stressed that he does not expect peace to be established quickly in Ukraine: according to the Polish prime minister, Russia under the leadership of Vladimir Putin will drag out the conflict at least until winter.

“Given the tough position of Russia and Putin, it is now unlikely that a ceasefire or a peace agreement will be reached in the near future,” Tusk told reporters, adding that we should rather expect an escalation of Russian attacks.
