As a result of the massive Russian strike on Kyiv and the region on the night of August 20, the warehouses of the large retail chains “Fora”, VARUS, “EKO Market”, the companies “Fine Ices” and Yves Rocher, as well as the KLO oil depot were damaged. The shelling and fires at the facilities caused significant damage to the business, but there were no casualties. Destruction of food bases in Kyiv region
The night attack fell on large food warehouses, where enterprises stored supplies for stores across the country. In Boryspil, missiles damaged the distribution center of the Fora chain, which began to be used only last week after the previous shelling. Tons of fresh vegetables, fish and ready meals burned here. In the same area, shelling completely destroyed the premises of the logistics partner of the VARUS company, where large volumes of goods were stored. In addition, the product warehouse of the EKO Market also came under targeted fire.
Also near Kyiv, the base of the company “Fine Ices”, which supplied ice cream to 22 Ukrainian cities, was completely destroyed. The complex of the French brand Yves Rocher Ukraine also suffered serious damage, which suspended online orders due to the destruction of computers and shelves.
Strike on oil depot
At the same time, in the Brovary district, the enemy attacked the KLO oil depot, where a strong fire broke out, but all the personnel managed to take cover in time and were not injured.
Rescue teams of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine continue to work at the sites of the shelling, and company managers are urgently looking for backup logistics routes.
As previously reported, missile and drone strikes on Kyiv and the Kyiv region led to the death and injury of a large number of people. In Kyiv, 15 civilians were killed, another 39 were injured. In the Kyiv region, the number of victims of the Russian shelling increased to 8 people, one person died.
