Kyivstar CEO Oleksandr Komarov stated that the full-scale deployment of a 5G network in Ukraine is a challenging task until the end of the hostilities. Currently, the company has limited itself to pilot testing of the technology in Lviv.

This was reported by Liga.Business citing LIGA.net, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

According to the company’s head, the large-scale implementation of fifth-generation connectivity requires significant resources and stable conditions, which are currently limited due to the security situation. The implementation of such projects on a national scale during the war is accompanied by a number of technical and economic challenges.

Pilot projects remain the only operational format

Previously, the mobile operator conducted a 5G test launch in the city of Lviv. The process of testing the new technology within one settlement lasted for three months.
