Chairman of the Board of NPC Ukrenergo Vitaliy Zaychenko held a meeting with the new Ambassador of the Netherlands, Roelof van Ees. The parties discussed the implementation of joint projects, the protection of energy facilities, and the need for assistance to get through the winter period. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of Ukrenergo.
During the meeting, the head of Ukrenergo demonstrated to the diplomat the stages of physical protection installation for high-voltage equipment, which is being implemented through grants from the Dutch government. The parties also focused on forming a strategic reserve of components required for stable operation during the heating season.
Prospects for investment cooperation
Vitaliy Zaychenko highlighted the interest in Dutch investments for capacity reconstruction. He pointed out the attractiveness of the distributed generation construction tender, where investors receive guaranteed income, and the grid receives additional reliability in regions with electricity deficits.
“We are very grateful to our Dutch partners for their systematic support of the Ukrainian energy sector. Ukrenergo is currently working actively to prepare the energy system for winter and the expected new massive enemy attacks,” noted Vitaliy Zaychenko.
Assistance from partners
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the company TenneT has been providing equipment for repairs. In addition, the Netherlands has contributed 100 million euros to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund and directed funds to special EBRD and RePower funds.
Roelof van Ees confirmed intentions to continue cooperation. He assured that the Dutch government will continue to assist Ukrainian energy specialists in preparing for winter and directly during the cold season.
