The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine continues to scale up its capabilities to defeat the enemy at different distances. This was reported on Friday, August 21, by the head of the military department Yevgeny Khmara. The PromPolitInform portal informs.
According to him, it is for this purpose that a new tender has already been announced for the purchase of long-range strike UAVs and FPV drones with fiber optic communication, which will allow our operators to work effectively at tactical and strategic depths, thanks to which they will be able to hit enemy targets both at the front and directly on the territory of the Russian Federation.
“These are the first purchases of these types of UAVs according to their tactical and technical characteristics. Ukraine is using more and more different means, evaluating what works better and under what conditions. That is why the purchase of long-range UAVs provides for different classes of drones – by flight range and warhead mass,” the report says.
Yevheniy Khmara noted that building up Deep Strike capabilities is a key component of the Ukrainian strategy to disable Russian military infrastructure.
At the same time, the use of fiber-optic FPV drones is a solution for the front in conditions of active operation of Russian electronic warfare equipment.
“Our defenders will receive additional opportunities to disrupt Russian assaults and conduct their own operations, knocking out enemy manpower. Strengthening the army is a priority for the Ministry of Defense. Soldiers will receive more means to destroy the Russian military machine at different levels – from the front line to the enemy’s deep rear,” the head of the Ministry of Defense emphasized.
