During the visit of Finnish President Alexander Stubb to Kyiv, the Ukrainian and Finnish sides signed three documents regarding memoranda on cooperation in the defense sphere. As reported by the Office of the President of Ukraine, the agreements provide for the production of drones, ground-based robots, and the development of maritime unmanned systems. Representatives of seven Finnish companies, including Patria, Nokia, Insta, Boomeranger, Nest AI, Sensofusion, and ICEYE, arrived in the capital to coordinate the details.
Within the framework of these agreements, the Ukrainian defense company Heneral Chereshnia signed a separate memorandum with the Finnish corporation Patria. As reported by the co-founder of Heneral Chereshnia, Stanislav Hryshyn, the Ukrainian side will provide developments in FPV drones, fixed-wing aircraft, interceptors, and fiber-optic communication systems, while the executive vice president of Patria, Mikko Leinno, confirmed the readiness to provide the production capacities of the Finnish enterprise for their mass production.
In parallel with the signing of industrial agreements, Finnish President Alexander Stubb commented on the course of combat operations. According to his assessments, strikes on objects inside the RF, specifically on warehouse facilities like Wildberries, are the only way to compel Moscow to peace as they increase the costs of the Russian budget. Stubb stated that after such incidents, the share of Russians seeking an end to the hostilities increased by 10% and reached 65%.
Commenting on the concluded agreements at a joint roundtable, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that defense cooperation between the states has entered a stage of practical implementation. Alexander Stubb, for his part, remarked that the experience of waging war by the Ukrainian Defence Forces is one of the highest in Europe, and also added that Moscow currently has no plans for a direct attack on NATO countries.
