The military shot down a Russian drone that attempted to attack a brigade of JSC Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo during repair works. Following the incident, specialists restored power supply for 5.5 thousand consumers.
This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of JSC Zaporizhzhyaoblenergo.
The incident occurred in the Orikhiv area, where energy workers were operating on an aerial platform, which hindered their evacuation. The unmanned aerial vehicle of the occupying forces of the rf was promptly neutralized by the Defence Forces personnel providing security for the workers.
Security cooperation with the military
As reported by the head of JSC Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo, Andrii Stasevskyi, this is the fifth time since the beginning of the summer that military escort has allowed for personnel lives to be saved. Work in dangerous areas is currently impossible without protection from the defenders.
After the drone was neutralized, the energy workers completed the repairs, allowing power to be restored to 5.5 thousand consumers. Additionally, specialists from the Zaporizhzhia District Power Grid restored power supply to 3 thousand families in Kushuhum and Balabyne.
“It is precisely thanks to the military that we have the time and opportunity in these territories to address electrical grid damages and restore light to the people,” stated Andrii Stasevskyi.
