Russian authorities are carrying out covert mobilization measures across 17 regions. Individuals from vulnerable social groups and those detained for minor offenses are being forcibly recruited into the army.

This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of Crimean Wind, based on data from The Moscow Times.

As part of the mobilization process, the occupiers are targeting people with alcohol or drug dependencies, as well as citizens with mental health disorders. To meet recruitment quotas, law enforcement agencies are resorting to abductions and physical abuse.

Methods of forced recruitment to the front line

In Novorossiysk, a local resident was taken to a police station, beaten, and framed for drug possession. Under threat of further prosecution, the man was forced to sign a military contract.

Similar cases have been reported in other RF subjects. In the Arkhangelsk region, a citizen was mobilized after being detained for consuming alcohol in a public place.

In Omsk, a man was taken directly from his workplace, held illegally, and had his consent papers for military service signed on his behalf. In Udmurtia, a conscript was removed from the psychiatrist’s register and immediately sent to the combat zone in Donbas.
