Apple has introduced an updated Mac Mini compact computer equipped with its proprietary M6 and M5 Pro series processors. The devices provide a significant boost in performance for artificial intelligence tasks and will go on sale on September 22, 2026. This was reported by Apple, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The developer has introduced 12-core central processors in the new M6 models, which has increased the speed of AI algorithm processing by four times compared to the previous generation. The graphics subsystem now includes specialized neural accelerators in each core, facilitating faster execution of complex computational tasks and multimedia content editing.
High performance for professional tasks
The Mac Mini variant based on the M5 Pro chip is aimed at complex workflows such as software development, 3D modeling, and high-quality video rendering. The model supports up to 64 GB of unified memory and is equipped with a Thunderbolt 5 interface, allowing multiple systems to be clustered for large-scale machine learning operations.
The technical specifications for both versions include support for modern wireless standards Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. Wired connectivity features an expanded port selection, including a front-facing USB-C and 10 Gbps Ethernet, ensuring stable performance in corporate networks and professional studios.
Software and environmental standards
Device functionality is enhanced by the updated macOS 27 operating system, which integrates the Siri AI intelligent assistant to automate routine actions. With these new tools, users gain broader capabilities for working with contextual information, searching for data within applications, and interacting quickly with the system via voice commands.
The corporation also emphasizes environmental sustainability, stating that 50 percent recycled materials are used in the chassis construction. The electricity required for manufacturing and powering the Mac Mini comes from renewable sources, aligning with the company’s long-term strategy to achieve full carbon neutrality by 2030.
The starting price for the M6 and M5 Pro models on the American market is $899 and $1,699 respectively. Pre-orders began on August 25, 2026, and the computers are expected to arrive in retail chains and authorized stores after September 22.
