Artificial intelligence analyses photos and videos to locate Russian military hardware
Artificial intelligence allows analysts of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to save up to 90% of their time when searching for enemy positions and military equipment in photos and videos. The technology is being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine to increase strike efficiency. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
The application of advanced technologies automates routine reconnaissance processes. Artificial intelligence is capable of independently scanning large volumes of visual data, quickly detecting signs of the presence of Russian occupiers on the ground.
The principle of control and decision-making speed
Despite the active use of automated systems, Ukraine strictly adheres to the human-in-the-loop concept. This means that artificial intelligence plays only a supporting role: it detects and pre-evaluates a potential target, but the final decision to strike is always made by a human.
This approach significantly accelerates the entire kill chain, which spans from the initial detection of an enemy object to the final assessment of the strike results. AI technologies optimise every stage of this process, enhancing overall combat effectiveness.
