The court collected the value of a property share in an elite Kyiv residential complex
The High Anti-Corruption Court has satisfied the lawsuit of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office to confiscate over 4 million UAH from former Minister of Agrarian Policy Vitalii Koval. The assets, registered to the official's relative, were declared unjustified. This was reported by Ukrinform citing SAPO, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The court ruling concerns 53.15% of property rights to an apartment located in a premium-class residential complex in the capital. The total value collected for the state budget amounts to 4,353,176 UAH.
According to prosecutors, the official’s relative purchased the 170-square-meter property in 2021 for 8.1 million UAH. Since 2023, Vitalii Koval included the property in his asset declarations, listing it as his family’s residence and a property leased by his spouse.
Evidence of illegal income
During the proceedings, law enforcement proved that the ex-minister’s family had been using the property long before it was officially declared. An analysis of the relative’s financial records showed she lacked sufficient legitimate income to afford such an expensive purchase.
The owner’s claim regarding receiving a loan of nearly 5.5 million UAH was rejected by the court for lack of evidence. The lawsuit was based on investigative materials from NABU, NACP, and data from the Slidstvo.Info project.
Possibility of appeal
The court ruling is not final as it remains subject to appeal. The parties involved have 30 days from the date the full text of the judgment is drafted to file an appeal.
Vitalii Koval served as Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine from September 2024 to July 2025. It should be noted that the total claim filed by SAP regarding the assets of the politician’s relative was higher, reaching 9.3 million UAH.
