Debris impact triggered a blaze spreading from the fourth to the ninth floor
On the evening of September 3, Russian forces launched a drone attack on Kyiv, causing a fire at a residential high-rise building in the Holosiivskyi district. Emergency services evacuated 15 residents from the damaged structure. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Олена Бджола), according to the portal PromPolitInform.
An air raid alert was declared in the capital at 18:56 due to a drone threat. Shortly afterward, residents of the Holosiivskyi district reported the consequences of the enemy strike, which damaged residential housing.
According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, the strike hit a nine-story building. Emergency service units arrived at the scene immediately to contain the fire and assist those affected.
Scale of destruction and evacuation
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko clarified that the fire engulfed a significant portion of the building. Specifically, a fire was recorded from the fourth to the ninth floors, with significant structural damage sustained on the ninth floor.
Rescuers conducted evacuation efforts, safely removing 15 people from the building. Work by emergency services at the site continues to assess the structural integrity and confirm if there are any additional casualties.
It should be noted that this was not the only attack on the city during the day. Earlier on September 3, debris from enemy drones also fell onto a roadway in another district of the capital.
