In August 2026, drones performed over 25,000 logistics and evacuation tasks at the front
Since the beginning of 2026, the number of missions by ground robotic systems in the Defence Forces has increased by 3.3 times. In the last month of summer alone, over 25,000 operations for cargo delivery and casualty evacuation were recorded. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
The dynamics of unmanned technology usage on the front lines are reflected in the DELTA combat system. As of September this year, the total number of missions completed since the beginning of January has reached 112,000.
The deployment of such equipment helps minimize risks for Ukrainian soldiers in the most dangerous sectors of the front. Robotic systems deliver ammunition, water, and food supplies, and also evacuate wounded personnel.
Statistics on system deployment
The volume of UGV (unmanned ground vehicle) deployment shows steady monthly growth. While 7,511 tasks were recorded in January, the figure for February stood at 7,960 missions. Subsequently, an upward trend was observed: 9,072 in March, 11,028 in April, 14,059 in May, 16,664 in June, and 19,940 in July.
The August result of 25,143 tasks confirms a more than threefold increase in operational intensity compared to the start of the year. Such momentum points to the gradual scaling of technological solutions in combat operations.
Equipping the front lines
Efforts in this direction also include centralized state actions. Specifically, the Defence Procurement Agency (DOT) has initiated the first tender for the purchase of robotic systems.
The procurement is carried out according to the tactical and technical requirements previously established by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. This will allow units to be equipped with certified weapon systems adapted to the real needs of the front line.
