The facility's processing capacity reaches 14 million tons annually
Lukoil's Volgograd oil refinery completely halted crude processing on October 2 due to equipment damage caused by a drone strike. Two industry sources reported this information. This was reported by The Moscow Times citing Reuters, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
Regional authorities, represented by Governor Andrey Bocharov, confirmed a massive drone strike on industrial infrastructure in the region on the day of the incident, though officials did not name the affected enterprises.
Lukoil did not respond to an official request for comment regarding the current operational situation at the manufacturing facility.
Previous strikes on the oil refinery
Earlier major unmanned aerial vehicle attacks on this oil processing plant, which also caused significant infrastructure damage, were recorded on May 29 and July 31.
According to official data on the company’s website, the refinery complex is capable of processing approximately 14 million tons of crude oil annually.
This specified volume accounts for about 5% of the total oil processing output across all refinery facilities in russia.
