Auction for nine seized vessels in Izmail fails due to lack of bidders

The starting price of the lot was UAH 151.66 million excluding VAT

Asset Recovery and Management Agency failed to hold an auction to sell nine seized vessels located in Izmail, Odesa region. The bidding was declared void due to a complete absence of applications from potential buyers. This was reported by USM — ports and shipping citing Prozorro.Sale, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

The auction was scheduled for October 8, but not a single participant submitted an application to bid. The starting price for the seized assets was set at UAH 151.66 million excluding VAT.

All nine vessels were put up for the electronic auction as a single lot. It included eight dry cargo ships and one oil tanker built between 1970 and 1988.

Technical condition and additional expenses

The fleet offered for sale included RONDO, SVIR, AVANGARD, NAVIGER-2, as well as VOLGOBALT and OMSKYI series vessels. All ships are physically located in the city of Izmail.

Most of the vessels are in unsatisfactory technical condition due to prolonged inactivity. Some units sustained damage as a result of enemy air strikes targeting port infrastructure.

Payments and buyer obligations

This lot was offered at an electronic auction for the first time. In addition to the purchase price, the winning bidder was required to pay approximately UAH 58.4 million in customs duties.

The winner was also expected to cover all subsequent costs related to repairs, maintenance, mooring, and legal registration of the acquired fleet.
