Judicial practice on copyright
The Supreme Court has provided clarifications regarding the procedure for determining the amount of compensation for copyright infringement. The proceedings arose from a dispute over the use of an image of the main gate of the Potocki Palace in Ivano-Frankivsk on souvenir magnets. As part of the case, the court determined the compensation amount at 6,000 hryvnias, even though the plaintiff’s initial claims reached 65,000 hryvnias, while also explaining the criteria for providing evidence for such lawsuits.
