The capital is preparing for potential emergency power outages amid enemy strikes on energy infrastructure
The Kyiv City State Administration has urged residents of the capital to prepare individual stocks of water, food, and lighting supplies. These measures are necessary due to the increasing intensity of Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy system. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from Kyiv City State Administration.
City authorities emphasize the importance of autonomous preparation for emergency situations as energy workers and municipal services continue working to restore utility supplies following damage to infrastructure. Given the current security situation, residents are advised to build a three-day supply of resources.
Water supply calculations
For every adult, it is necessary to have at least 3 liters of drinking water per day, as well as 10–12 liters of technical water for cooking and hygiene. Citizens are advised to study the map of 155 standpipe complexes in advance, which will be able to operate using generators in the event of power outages.
Energy efficiency tips
Kyiv residents are encouraged to prepare portable charging stations and power banks, and ensure households have flashlights, battery-powered or rechargeable lamps, candles, and batteries. An important step is insulating homes: it is worth sealing window joints and placing thermal insulation materials behind radiators.
Safety and information
The city administration urges the use of reflective elements on clothing or bags for safe movement on the streets during dark hours. Official updates on the status of infrastructure can be monitored via the Kyiv Digital mobile application or through the municipal government’s communication channels in messengers and social networks.
