Taras Kachka appointed as Representative of Ukraine to the EU

The diplomat will represent the state's interests in the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has issued a decree appointing Taras Kachka as the Representative of Ukraine to the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community. The corresponding document, No. 1034/2026, was published on October 9, 2026. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from Official Internet Representation of the President of Ukraine.

The decision made by the head of state concerns the representation of Ukraine’s interests in key European institutions. According to the text of the official decree, Taras Kachka will now perform the functions of Ukraine’s representative to the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community.

Official appointment

The document regarding the appointment of Taras Andriyovych Kachka to the new position came into effect on October 9, 2026. The decision was signed by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The corresponding personnel changes are aimed at ensuring stable communication and deepening cooperation with European structures. The representative’s scope of responsibility covers the political and economic aspects of interaction with the EU, as well as cooperation within the framework of energy policy, coordinated through the respective atomic energy community.
