Nearly 1,600 new listings target the Russian military-industrial complex
European Union foreign ministers have approved nearly 1,600 new sanctions listings aimed at the Russian military-industrial complex. The decision marks the addition of the largest number of items to the sanctions register against Russia since the start of the full-scale war. This was reported by Ukrinform citing Kaja Kallas, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The package approved by the ministers expands restrictive measures against entities and supply chains sustaining the aggressor state’s defence sector.
The newly designated entries directly target Russia’s military-industrial complex to hinder the production and modernisation of weapons.
Targeting the defence manufacturing base
This expansion represents the highest volume of added entries and entities recorded since the launch of the major conflict.
The adopted measures form part of the bloc’s sustained economic strategy to restrict Moscow’s capacity to maintain its military campaign.
