Crucial information about missile threats is vital for civilian safety
American intelligence systematically provides Ukraine with data on the preparation and execution of Russian ballistic missile launches. This allows for timely warnings to the public about dangers and ensures people can reach shelters. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Іван Носальський) citing the Telegram channel of Serhii Beskrestnov, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
Serhii Beskrestnov, an advisor to the President of Ukraine known as “Flash,” commented on speculations regarding a potential halt to intelligence sharing by the US. He emphasized that receiving notifications about enemy ballistic targets is essential for the protection of civilians.
According to Beskrestnov, he is skeptical about the likelihood of Washington abandoning this form of cooperation. The safety of the civilian population remains a key aspect of bilateral interaction, and the transmission of such information is a critical component of defense.
Potential Political Ultimatums
Amid reports of agreements between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin regarding increased supplies of Russian diesel fuel, media outlets have reported on pressure applied to Kyiv. Specifically, Axios, citing Ukrainian officials, noted that the American side allegedly threatened to cut off intelligence support due to ZSU strikes on Russian oil refineries.
In turn, US officials denied that such threats were issued during the negotiation process. Discussions surrounding the continuation of strikes on Russian oil infrastructure continue against the backdrop of an “energy truce” announced on October 11.
Consequences for the Energy Sector
Despite Kyiv’s declared readiness to support initiatives aimed at de-escalation in the energy sector, Russian forces have not ceased their aggressive actions. On October 12, Russia launched massive attacks on six energy facilities across Ukraine.
