Air defense units intercepted and suppressed 88 enemy UAVs
On the night of October 13, russian forces launched five ballistic missiles and 122 air attack weapons against Ukraine. Defense forces intercepted and suppressed 88 drones. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
During the night, enemy forces launched a massive air attack using various types of weaponry. Specifically, launches of five ballistic missiles from russia’s Bryansk Oblast were recorded, along with loitering munitions and a large number of unmanned aerial vehicles from several directions, including Oryol, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk Oblast and Crimea.
Composition of the air attack
The weapons used included Shahed-type strike drones, including jet-powered modifications, Gerbera drones, and Parodiya decoy drones. The repelling of the attack was carried out by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Air defense performance
As of 08:00, Ukrainian defenders neutralized 88 aerial targets using air defense and electronic warfare systems. At the same time, impacts of enemy weapons were recorded at 17 locations, while falling debris from intercepted targets was spotted at 7 locations.
Impact aftermath
Certain enemy loitering munitions reached the city of Kharkiv, where impacts were recorded, though some targets failed to reach their destinations. As of the compilation of the report, the air attack was still ongoing, with several enemy drones remaining in the airspace.
