A wounded 30th Brigade soldier was denied medical aid after his commander rebuked him
On 16 October, Ukrainian military intelligence intercepted radio communications of Russian servicemen on the Pokrovsk front. A wounded soldier reported an absolute lack of medicine and a rotting leg wound, but his command denied him assistance. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
The conversation intercepted by military intelligence reportedly features personnel from the 30th Separate Motor Rifle Brigade of the 2nd Army of the Russian Armed Forces. This formation operates on forward positions of the Pokrovsk axis.
A wounded serviceman identified as Stepan contacted his commanders via radio to report his deteriorating physical condition. The soldier stated that he faced an acute shortage of medical supplies as his wounded limb had begun to rot.
Commander Rebukes Call for Help
The soldier reported over the radio that his leg was heavily swollen and rotting due to the lack of pharmaceuticals. He stressed that personnel on his current position were not provided with any medications to treat the wound.
In response, his immediate commander reprimanded the subordinate for tying up radio frequencies. The officer asserted that the unit was occupied with frontline operations and that questions regarding supplies should not be directed to him.
Following the obscenity-laden refusal from his superior, the wounded serviceman apologised for holding the radio channel and signed off. Intelligence officials reiterated that Russian personnel can preserve their lives by surrendering through the I Want to Live project.
