Defense forces neutralized 152 enemy aerial targets
On the night of October 18, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine using a ballistic missile and 180 strike UAVs of various types. Air defense units shot down or suppressed 152 drones. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The enemy used an Iskander-M ballistic missile launched from the Voronezh region, as well as 180 strike drones. Among the weaponry deployed were Shahed-type UAVs, including 26 jet-powered ones, S-8000 Banderol, Dan-T, Gerbera apparatuses, and Parodiya-type decoy drones.
Launch geography and repelling the attack
The launches were carried out from various directions, including Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk region and Crimea. The response involved aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups.
Consequences of the night shelling
As of 08:00, the neutralization of 152 enemy UAVs has been confirmed. The attack resulted in hits at 20 locations, and debris from intercepted targets was found at 4 other sites.
As of the morning, about ten enemy drones remained in Ukrainian airspace, and the work of air defense forces continued.
