Leave applications must be submitted at least 15 days before the travel date
Ukrainian military personnel are entitled to travel abroad during their annual leave, provided they follow established procedures. To cross the border, service members must obtain prior approval from their command and prepare specific documentation. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
The process requires submitting a formal request to the unit commander. This report must be filed at least 15 calendar days before the scheduled leave according to the approved timetable.
In the request, the service member must specify the departure and return dates. The document must also state the destination address, mode of transport, and designated border crossing point.
Required travel documentation
The unit commander holds the authority to approve travel abroad. During border inspection, service members are required to present all supporting paperwork.
The mandatory documents include a valid passport for foreign travel and a military ID or officer credentials. Additionally, personnel must carry a standardized leave pass and an official excerpt from the commander’s travel authorization order.
