Fine dust has been identified as the primary pollutant in the region
On October 22, a temporary deterioration in air quality was recorded in six settlements of Kyiv region. Specialists identify fine dust as the primary cause of the issue. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Тетяна Степанова) citing Kyiv Regional State Administration, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
According to monitoring results, air quality changes are being observed in Ivankiv, Irpin, Vyshneve, Bila Tserkva, Obukhiv, and Brovary. As of October 22, the concentration of dust shows a downward trend.
Recommendations for the public
To minimize exposure to harmful particles, experts recommend keeping windows closed and avoiding prolonged time outdoors. They also advise increasing water intake and operating air purifiers at maximum capacity.
Children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory sensitivities should exercise particular caution. Prolonged exposure to fine dust can cause significant discomfort during breathing.
Radiation background levels
In other parts of Kyiv region, no exceedances of permissible chemical or biological substance concentrations have been reported. Air quality metrics across most of the region remain within safe limits.
Gamma radiation levels in the region remain within the natural background range, with no deviations detected. Continuous monitoring of atmospheric air quality is ongoing.
