Ukrainian enterprises received the first permits for the export of controlled goods of the military-industrial complex.
This was announced by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
According to Umerov, the controlled export of weapons is about the security of the state and the development of the Ukrainian defense industry, as well as the opening of new security alliances and the expansion of international partnership.
The NSDC Secretary noted that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy set the task to open the export of Ukrainian weapons in a controlled format, and this task is being fulfilled.
“The interdepartmental commission on the policy of military-technical cooperation and export control resumed work and for the first time in eight months held a meeting. According to its results, Ukrainian enterprises received the first permits for the export of controlled goods. All decisions are under state control and with the unconditional priority of the needs of the Defense Forces,” Umerov said.
Umerov said that as of now, the production capabilities of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex exceed $55 billion. According to him, in the areas of unmanned aerial vehicles, electronic warfare and reconnaissance, Ukraine’s capabilities already exceed the volume of internal purchases.
The NSDC Secretary explained that coordinated exports make it possible to attract investments, scale up production and launch new technologies for the Ukrainian army.
“The Ukrainian defense industry has proved its effectiveness in the war. Now our task is to turn this experience into a long-term industrial force and part of joint security with partners,” he added.
