After information appeared in the information space that the military would be fed according to the recipes of the cook Yevgeny Klopotenko, the Ministry of Defense decided to explain what was at stake. It is noted that in the army nutrition varies. So somewhere restaurant-level kitchens are equipped, somewhere everything rests on people without specialized education, who improvise in difficult conditions. And near the contact line, the military often prepares themselves, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement, the PromPolitInform portal informs.
The DOT Defense Procurement Agency makes every effort to improve the quality of products supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. But we are concerned about the final result: what dishes the military really receives. Therefore, within the framework of the “Preparing for Battle” project, a collection will be compiled with a systematized positive experience of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, so that it can be applied regardless of the kitchen equipment and the level of training of cooks, the report says.
The department notes that Yevgeny Klopotenko does not form a menu. NGO “Cult Food” only helps to collect the best recipes, create technological cards and adapt them to different cooking conditions. This is a volunteer initiative – DOT does not pay Cult Food. The collection “Preparing for battle” is created so that the military can cook tastier from the same products.
Recall the Ministry of Defense announced the launch of the project “Preparing for battle,” in which a “more balanced and diverse” diet for the military will be developed. Recipes will be developed by the team of chef Yevgeny Klopotenko
Most military cooks do not have specialized education, and there are no clearly written algorithms for their work. Even if the products are delivered on time and meet the standards, the result in the kitchen may vary depending on the conditions, equipment and people’s experience. The key product “Preparing for battle” should be a practical collection of recipes for those who are responsible for nutrition in the units. Its goal is to make the diet more balanced and diverse, – stressed in the department.
In addition, Klopotenko’s team plans to conduct practical trainings for cooks and record video recipes that will help to quickly master new cooking standards. It is noted that the project “will combine the best practices of combat units that have already independently implemented improved nutrition.”
The initiative is part of a major transformation of the APU support system in 2026. Since January 1 of this year, the Defense Procurement Agency and the State Logistics Operator have merged into a single structure to increase the efficiency and digitalization of all processes – from drones to hot lunches.
- In 2017, Yevgeny Klopotenko also participated in a large-scale reform of the school menu, initiated with the support of First Lady Elena Zelenskaya. Then Klopotenko’s team developed new recipes for kids and schoolchildren.
- On March 3, the Ministry of Defense announced the launch of the “Preparing for Battle” project, within the framework of which a “more balanced and diverse” diet for the military will be developed. Recipes will be developed by the team of chef Yevgeny Klopotenko.
- British Prime Minister Boris Johnson arrived in Kyiv on Tuesday, February 24. He took part in the annual forum “Yalta European Strategy” (YES), and also visited the institution of the famous chef Yevgeny Klopotenko “100 years ago forward” and ate borsch there.
