In 2025, the total revenue of the gas production industry amounted to UAH 132.6 billion, and net profit – UAH 14.26 billion.
The natural gas production industry in Ukraine significantly worsened its financial performance in 2025. According to the analytical platform VKURSI Market BI, the total revenue of the industry amounted to UAH 132.6 billion, and net profit – UAH 14.26 billion. For comparison, in 2024 the companies demonstrated a much stronger result: UAH 181.4 billion in revenue and UAH 69 billion in profit. Thus, revenues decreased by 27%, and profits decreased almost fivefold. This is reported by Dengi.ua, the PromPolitInform portal informs.
It is noted that the main reason for this decline was the Russian attacks on gas production infrastructure in the fall and winter of 2025. The attacks fell on gas production and transportation facilities, which led to a drop in production volumes and an increase in costs for restoring damaged facilities.
It is reported that JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannya also demonstrated a serious deterioration. If a year earlier the company received UAH 52.6 billion in profit, then in 2025 it recorded a loss of UAH 5.5 billion. At the same time, almost all of the positive financial result of the industry was provided by the four largest companies – their combined profit amounted to UAH 14.41 billion, while the losses of other market participants leveled the overall indicator. In total, according to VKURSI, 119 companies are registered in Ukraine for which gas production is the main activity.
According to the data, the leader in terms of profit in 2025 was the company “Nadra-Geoinvest”, which earned 5.39 billion UAH. It belongs in equal shares to Oleksandr Guzenko and Oleksandr Katsuba. Compared to the previous year, the company’s profit increased by 50% – from 3.5 billion UAH to more than 5.3 billion UAH. It is also noted that Oleksandr Katsuba is the former deputy chairman of the board of NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” (2012-2014), as well as a former member of the supervisory boards of “Chornomornaftogaz” and “Ukrtransgaz”. According to VKURSI, he is the founder or beneficiary of 11 companies, including “Alfa Gaz”, “Gaz-MDS”, “Avtocentr Ua”, “Zholet Invest Group”, “Agrofirma Podilska” and “Landex Agro”. The total profit of these assets in 2025 reached 12.86 billion UAH. In addition, the entrepreneur has an indirect influence on six more companies. In January 2025, changes were recorded in the Unified State Register: Tatyana Guzenko, Katsuba’s ex-wife, left the list of founders of Nadra-Geoinvest, Gaz-MDS, and Jolet Invest Group.
The second position in the ranking of the most profitable companies was taken by Naftogazvydobuvannya with a result of UAH 4.33 billion. It is part of Rinat Akhmetov’s System Capital Management group. Third place went to Naftogaziya (UAH 3.36 billion), founded by the Dutch structure DTEK Oil & Gas Development B.V., the ultimate beneficiary of which is also Rinat Akhmetov.
A group of companies associated with entrepreneur Zinovy Kozytsky and his business Zakhidnadraservice stands out separately. The rating included several structures at once: Nordic (632.3 million UAH), Well Co (579.74 million UAH) and Geo-Nadra (243.51 million UAH). Kozytsky is also a co-owner of companies created by the Czech legal entity JSC M&D Yukrej. The company “Horizonty” increased its profit almost eightfold over the year – to 1.33 billion UAH against 169.4 million UAH in 2024. Another structure – “MND Tynivske” – has been operating on the market for a little over a year, but has already shown a profit of 806.79 million UAH. Its founders are JSC M&D Yukrej and the Cypriot company Ivena Limited, and the ultimate beneficiaries are Karel Komarek and Zinovy Kozytsky. It is also reported that among the companies in this segment, Bystrytske Invest, associated with OKKO Group AG (Liechtenstein), also stands out. In 2025, the company went from a loss of UAH 9 million to a profit of UAH 243.5 million, and its income increased almost 28 times – to UAH 543 million.
In addition, another notable cluster of companies is associated with the Cypriot Diloretio Holdings LTD, the beneficiaries of which are Hanna and Karina Zlochevsky – daughters of the former Minister of Ecology Mykola Zlochevsky. This list includes Technokomservice (UAH 457.69 million), First Ukrainian Petroleum Company (UAH 212.64 million) and Nadragaz (UAH 101.27 million).
At the same time, the company Nadra Oleska also showed significant growth. If in 2024 its income was only UAH 4.45 million with losses of UAH 12.6 million, then in 2025 its revenue increased 87 times – to UAH 387.1 million, which allowed the company to make a profit of UAH 313 million.
