The deal is broken: Iran made a sharp statement after talks with the US

Almost a decade of intensive negotiations between the US and Iran ended in failure – the parties never agreed on peace. Tehran has already managed to accuse the American side of a lack of trust and “unresolved issues”. This, Economic News reports, was reported by official representatives of the Iranian Foreign Ministry and Western media. The PromPolitInform portal reports.

Two or three issues that changed everything

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baqaie confirmed that the meeting in Islamabad yielded only partial results. According to him, the disagreements on several key issues turned out to be too deep for one round of meetings. “It was not worth expecting an agreement in one go,” the diplomat concluded, hinting at a prolonged confrontation.

Parliament Speaker Mohammad Ghalibaf was even harsher. He said that the Iranian delegation acted with “good will,” but the United States has never been able to earn their trust. Now the ball is in Washington’s court: Tehran is waiting to see if the Americans can prove their sincerity.

Nuclear program and control over the strait

The American side sees the situation differently. Vice President J.D. Vance made it clear: the main stumbling block is the nuclear program. The United States is demanding a complete abandonment of developments, to which Iran has not yet agreed.

In addition to the nuclear issue, disputes are raging over enriched uranium reserves and control over the strategic Strait of Hormuz. While diplomats are leaving, the world remains in suspense, as neither side is ready to make concessions on security and resource issues.
