We survived one of the heaviest attacks in recent times. More than 1,500 in a single day

What can be said about this attack? We successfully withstood an attempt to overwhelm the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ air defense system with attack UAVs. More than 1,500 in a single day. The world has never seen anything like this before, wrote Serhii FLASH Beskrestnov, adviser to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine and Ukrainian expert in military radio technologies, on his Telegram channel, according to the Prompolitinform portal.

A total of 95% of the UAVs were shot down or neutralized. This is a fantastic result. Deep respect to all military personnel of all branches of the armed forces and the volunteer territorial formations who defended us. Interceptor drones destroyed about 30% of all UAVs. This is a significant percentage that continues to grow.

In this attack, the percentage of jet-powered Shaheds and guided Shaheds was relatively small. Obviously, the enemy was counting on the mass use of conventional Shaheds. The missiles caused the greatest damage, especially in Kyiv. There were hits on residential buildings and on the premises of civilian enterprises.

We do not publish such information, but the enemy will see everything themselves today through satellite images. Particularly cynical were the repeated ballistic strikes on the same locations several hours later. In this way, the enemy attempted to kill rescue workers operating at the sites.

The targets of the attack were critical infrastructure facilities, Ukrainian Railways, and logistics infrastructure. However, no material damage can compare to human lives. This is a terrible loss for all of us, the adviser to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine writes.

Earlier, we reported that during May 13–14, 2026, Russian forces carried out one of the largest combined aerial attacks. The enemy used 1,567 attack drones and 56 missiles. The main strikes targeted Kyiv, Kremenchuk, as well as energy and civilian infrastructure facilities.
