President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia used 1,567 drones and 56 missiles of various types against Ukraine during the attacks on May 13 and 14.
The head of state announced this after the Bet on May 14, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
According to Zelensky, the Russian strike lasted almost two days continuously and was planned in such a way as to overload the Ukrainian air defense system as much as possible.
“This is a special terrorist tactic of the Russians, who have been accumulating drones and missiles for some time and deliberately calculated the strike in such a way that its scale is significant and complications for our air defense are the greatest,” the president said.

“In this regard, there were specific instructions to the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the Air Force and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine,” Zelensky said.

The President also reported on the consequences of strikes in different regions of Ukraine – from Rivne and Ivano-Frankivsk to Kyiv and Kharkiv.
According to him, search and rescue operations are still ongoing in Kyiv at the site of the destroyed entrance of a high-rise building.
“The fate of almost 20 people who may have been in this house is unknown. As of now, it is known about seven dead and 39 wounded only in Kyiv,” the president said.
May 15 in Kyiv is declared a day of mourning, any entertainment events are canceled.
Instructed to prepare a response to the Russian Federation
Zelensky said that the issue of anti-ballistic systems and missiles to them is now the number one priority for Ukrainian diplomacy.
“Everyone should focus on anti-ballistic systems and missiles to them,” the head of state emphasized.
The president also instructed the Defense Forces and special services to propose possible formats for responding to a massive Russian strike.
According to the Air Force, Russia used almost the entire range of weapons during the night attack on May 14.
