Ukraine initiates the convening of urgent meetings of the UN Security Council and other international institutions, in particular the OSCE, after a new massive Russian attack on May 24. This was reported by Slovo i Dilo, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiga. Informs PromPolitInform.
“I have instructed all our missions to international organizations to fully use the multilateral toolkit in response to yesterday’s barbaric Russian missile attack on Kyiv. The UN, OSCE, Council of Europe and UNESCO must give an adequate and decisive response to the aggressor who is trying to compensate for the lack of military progress on the battlefield with terror against the civilian population,” said Sybiga.
At the same time, Sybiga stressed that Kyiv demands the immediate convening of a meeting of the UN Security Council and a joint meeting of the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation and the OSCE Permanent Council. According to him, Kyiv also uses other international platforms to respond to the occupiers’ strikes.
“Putin is trying to intimidate Ukraine by attacking civilians and destroying residential buildings, museums, schools and critical infrastructure. He is also trying to intimidate the world by launching intermediate-range ballistic missiles against peaceful cities. All this requires decisive and coordinated action by the international community,” the minister said.
We will remind, on the night of May 24, Russian troops carried out a massive combined strike on the territory of Ukraine using missiles of various types and strike drones. In total, radio-technical troops recorded 690 air attack vehicles – 90 missiles and 600 drones of various types.
The main blow fell on Kyiv, as a result of which at least 81 people are known to have been injured, including three children. Damage was recorded in all districts of the capital.
