According to him, this week, the Russians launched more than 2,300 strike drones, almost 1,560 guided aerial bombs and 108 missiles of various types against our people.
As the head of state said, all these strikes were carried out on ordinary civilian infrastructure – residential buildings, energy.
“Every day we work to increase protection against Russian terror,” the guarantor noted.
Why air defense cannot destroy 100% of targets
The head of the communications department of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat said that currently during massive combined attacks it is impossible to guarantee that absolutely all air targets will be destroyed.
“Currently, it is impossible to guarantee that everything will be shot down. Neither in the Middle East nor here. The maximum possible number is shot down if there is a potential air defense system, the same Patriot in the right place at the right time. But you can’t block Kyiv with one battery either. This is a huge city, and the Patriot looks, in fact, in one direction. Therefore, all available means work, but with a huge density of attacks and under the influence of other factors, the result is not always what we would like to see,” Ignat emphasized.
Let us remind you that on the night of May 31, the enemy attacked our country with 229 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas type and simulator drones of the Parody type. At the same time, air defense shot down/suppressed 212 enemy drones.
