Vilnius and Kyiv agreed on long-term supplies
Ukraine will increase imports of liquefied natural gas from the Baltic region. Gas can come from American and Middle Eastern producers. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyridenko following a meeting with Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginene, Mind reports. PromPolitInform portal informs.
She said that during the intergovernmental consultations the parties reached an agreement on long-term fuel supplies via the terminal in Klaipeda, Lithuania.
“Liquefied natural gas can come from both American and Middle Eastern producers. Ukrainian Naftogaz has already accepted such consignments. Our agreements will allow us to strengthen this channel,” the Prime Minister noted.
Svyridenko also thanked the Lithuanian side for its unwavering support for Ukraine and warm welcome.
“I am glad to be in a country where we do not have to explain what and who we are fighting for. And we can immediately start talking about how we can become stronger together,” Svyridenko emphasized.
Earlier it was reported that the average cost of liquefied gas from Ukrainian state producers at auctions held on January 10 increased by UAH 864/t compared to previous auctions and reached UAH 39,530/t.
