On the night of August 16, the Russians attacked Kryvyi Rih. As a result of the strike, PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” was damaged. This is the largest metallurgical enterprise of Ukraine. According to the PromPolitInform portal, PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” wrote about the strike on its own social networks.
On Sunday, the Russians attacked the plant with missiles and drones. As a result of the enemy strike, 13 employees of the enterprise were injured. Two deaths are also known.
The enterprise has implemented a plan for eliminating emergencies. Rescue and search operations are ongoing.
Firefighters, workers of the labor protection department, rescuers and doctors are working at the scene. Those injured in the missile strike are receiving necessary medical care in city hospitals.
The Russian military struck the main production facilities of the energy and blast furnace industries. The plant’s production processes have also been partially halted.
“We emphasize that our enterprise is a civilian facility of the mining and metallurgical industry and we strongly condemn such insidious enemy attacks. We recall that in 2022 our enterprise has already suffered a devastating missile strike,” wrote PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih”.
It is noted that at that time the Russians killed an employee and destroyed the long-rolling mill.
The plant added that experts are assessing the extent of the damage and the possibilities and timing of restoration.
