The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated UAH 8.3 billion from the reserve of funds provided for in the state budget for 2026 for the security and defense sector. Five law enforcement agencies will receive funding. This was reported by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on Monday, July 6, Fakty reports. The PromPolitInform portal reports.
The SBU, the State Security Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, the Foreign Intelligence Service, the State Protection Department and the State Special Communications Service will receive funding.
According to Svyrydenko, the allocated money will be used for defense and security needs, financial support for military personnel, strengthening the material and technical base, and enhancing intelligence capabilities.
“We are consistently strengthening the capabilities of the Security and Defense Forces so that they have everything they need to protect Ukraine and effectively respond to Russian terror,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
Recall that on June 10, the Verkhovna Rada adopted amendments to the State Budget for 2026, which provide for an increase in spending on the security and defense sector by UAH 1.56 trillion.
On June 23, the Prime Minister announced that the government had allocated an additional UAH 220 million for the needs of the Defense Forces.
On June 30, Yulia Svyrydenko informed that Ukraine had received another €3.9 billion from the European Union, which went to a special fund of the state budget.
These funds will be used to finance priority defense needs.
